Library
1) What books can I borrow at PPC?
We have an extensive range of books ranging from academic to fiction titles, even graphic novels! Some popular books are the local titles, those dealing with relationships, coming-out, and show adaptations. There are also magazines for browsing, and brochures/mini booklets free to take.
2) Does PPC have an Online Catalogue?
Yes we do! You can find our catalogue here.
3) How many books can I borrow and for how long?
You can borrow up to 6 titles from the library (excluding reference materials) for a period of 2 weeks.
4) Do I have to pay for the books?
There’s a small book deposit of $10 per book borrowed (2 titles =$20), which is returned when the book is returned. So in its essence, borrowing books at PPC is free!
5) What if I cannot return the books on time?
In the event that books cannot be returned on time, we will collect a nominal fee of $2 per week it is overdue. These funds will be re-channeled for new book purchases and library maintenance. Please contact us in advance if you need to renew your loan period.
Donations
1) Can I donate my books to PPC?
Unfortunately our space is having an overcapacity of books at the moment (as of 2023). Please drop us an email to check if we are accepting book donations again. When we do have space, we are happy to receive your donations of LGBTQ related books. Do visit our Online Catalogue first to see if we already have a copy of the book, and only donate titles that we don’t carry yet.
2) Are other donations accepted?
As a 100% volunteer-run space, we really appreciate all cash donations and item donations that can keep the library and resource centre running! Please email to us with more details on what you wish to donate. In the event when we can’t accept the items, we can recommend other LGBTQ+ groups to help 🙂
Volunteering
1) Can I volunteer at PPC?
Please do! PPC is a solely volunteer-run space hence we are always on the lookout for new and good help! Please email us for more information.
